bio
Known as future resident caroline, child actress turned controversial futurist, caroline houck began her use of conceptualism as a hybrid of futures visioning and creative direction for some of the world’s largest brands. Her ability to develop long-ranging lifestyle analysis came from an early interest in, and compassion for, her fellow human. Her lifelong observations lent a great deal of insight to her early work with Promostyl, a leading tastemaker and trend agency with bases in Paris, New York and Tokyo. Five years of futures consulting with brands like Samsung, Victoria’s Secret, Ray Ban, Alloy, and xoxo revealed her keen sense of what was to come as she watched futures she anticipated come to fruition.
Upon reflection about her work and life, Caroline realized she was forecasting much further into the future than the thinkers who were her peers and mentors. As a result, she made a radical shift of focus for her work, and a choice to deeply immerse herself in research, so she could better understand how to contribute to cultural growth in our time. Created from the hopeful and heartfelt vantage of a resident of the future, through bold sympathies and playful insight, her conceptual works reflect a reality of what is now and what is possibile for a better tomorrow.

* I, caroline, am of the mindspace that good working relationships are pretty much the most important part of any organization. Future resident is being set up as a casually structured organization made up of serious hard working people. There have been some people who weren’t that, to say the least, who were attracted to the project/business. I have let some parts of the business get put on hold to allow those people to go on their way a few times, in order to maintain the integrity of the business, because the vibe or simply sensitive people getting how extraordinary this project/business is, is all i have room for. Anyone with any idea other than that has mistakenly found their way to the wrong place and the project has sacrificed to get them to move on their way. Mostly with fine feelings, just different ways of thinking. Unless you are invited to and have the motivation, living out a personal project through our business, unless it is an exactly perfect fit, is not a good idea. Or if you have a bad attitude you are looking to assert somewhere, again, this isn’t the place to do that.
